TREK Development purchased a troubled Section 8 development (Reed Roberts) in 2009 with the intention of dismantling the property over various years, allowing time for new units to be constructed and tenants to relocate. Reed Roberts has since been demolished and 72 rental units (apartments and townhomes) have been constructed.

More than 50% of the townhouses are slated to convert to for-sale opportunities in 15 years. In addition to the completed units, 24 rental units are to be built in 2014/15 as well as 18 for-sale single-family homes. The project includes rehabilitation of a number of original brownstones in the area as well as an adaptive reuse of an historic elementary school auditorium into loft apartments, securing the neighborhood’s past while moving it into the future.
