Mapping and analysis of Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction evidenced an operational logic of looping with emphasis on the dynamic effects of pacing in the film.
Continuing on to examine the given project site in a city whose scale is based not on the human but on the automobile, the movement of car traffic on the adjacent US 110-101 freeway interchange seemed an appropriate focus for site analysis.
These studies in looping were then applied to program organization and circulation, giving way to the form of the building.
